Dear Parents and Community Stakeholders,
ACA is proud to announce our students have made tremendous gains in their academic achievement. As a school we earned the letter grade of a “B” and we are only 9 points away from an “A.” Over the course of the past two years ACA has grown over 32 points. The amazing growth is an attribute to the support of the parents and communities commitment to ensuring academic excellence. Here are just a few of the accomplishments:
100% graduation rate
86% of our high school planning to attend postsecondary education
Reading and mathematics growth over the average as an entire K-12 school
Individual grade levels are beating the state average in percent passing
In addition, the ACA staff is the most committed and dedicated group of educators I have worked with in the past eighteen years of being in education. The staff has been relentless at always asking the question, “What is best for ACA students?” No matter how large the challenge was, the staff had the focus and determination to overcome the odds. The staff made a commitment to demonstrate just how great our students can achieve and to believe that we can all make a difference.
Most of all, the congratulations goes to ACA students. The students have taken on the challenge of demonstrating that regardless of ethnicity, socioeconomic background or zip code ALL students can achieve academic excellence. ACA is so proud of the accomplishments and growth our students have demonstrated this past 2012-2013 school year. From kindergarten to twelfth grade the students were cheering each other on, discussing their progress with the use of data, and letting everyone know their individual and classroom accomplishments. The ACA culture of academic excellence and believing in each other has become embedded on a daily basis.
Now what? ACA doesn’t stop here!! Over the summer the administration and staff have diligently been meeting, discussing and planning how to continue to achieve academic excellence, increase rigor and assist ALL students with continued growth. The 2013-2014 school year is going to be amazing. Here are new things happening:
Moving to a new more rigorous English Language Arts curriculum
Incorporating a school wide writing program aligned to the national and state standards
Mathematics is expanding on the ability to critically think and express solution through writing and examples
Developed a new junior high program to promote high quality academics and character building
New digital learning programs in the High School and coming soon to Jr. High where credits can be earned
Continued opportunity in grades 11th-12th to earn college credits from Grand Canyon University while still in High School
ACA appreciates your continued support. If you have any questions or comments please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 623-974-4959. Stephani Olson the Jr. High/High School Principal can be reached at email@example.com.
